Due to its chemical composition, 1.7218 (AISI 4130) is suitable for tempering and combines very good toughness with good tensile strengths. This also applies to higher operating temperatures. The quality is widely used for automotive and aircraft components such as axles, steering knuckles and turbine parts. 25CrMo4 is well weldable.<\/p>\n<p>Mechanical properties for round bar in tempered condition QT (depending on diameter):<\/p>\n<p>Tensile strength (Rm) min\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>|\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> \u2265 600\u2013900 N\/mm\u00b2<\/p>\n<p>Yield strength (Re) min\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">|\u00a0<\/span><\/strong> \u2265 380-700 N\/mm\u00b2<\/p>\n<p>Elongation A5 min\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">|<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 \u2265 12-16%<\/p>\n<p>Hardness HB\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">|\u00a0<\/span><\/strong> 270-325<\/p>\n<p>Notch impact values \u200b\u200b(in rolling direction) +20 \u00b0C\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">|\u00a0<\/span><\/strong> \u2265 45-50 joules<\/p>\n<p>GNS has extensive options for <strong>round bar, flat bar and cut-to-size blocks<\/strong> in forged, annealed (+A) or tempered (+QT) condition.
