AISI 310 (1.4841) added to product range

GNS has expanded its product range with the heat resistant grade AISI 310. The quality 310 (1.4841) is a silicon alloy austenitic stainless steel for use on high temperature. It exhibits good mechanical properties with a very good oxidation resistance for use up to about 1150 ° C in dry air. The temperature range of 600 ° – 900 ° C should be avoided because it can lead to brittleness of the material.

The material 1.4841 is essentially a variant of the usual 1.4845 (AISI 310S), however, with an increased silicon content. Silicon increases the oxidation resistance, but also increases the risk of brittleness.
