Material number 1.4529, also known as Alloy 926, is a high-quality super austenitic stainless steel with exceptional resistance to corrosion in highly aggressive environments. Thanks to its high content of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, copper and nitrogen, this material is particularly resistant to salt and chloride-rich media, such as seawater and brine solutions. Alloy 926 offers excellent protection against pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion, even at elevated temperatures.

Thanks to its fully austenitic structure, 1.4529 is non-magnetic, which is an important advantage in applications where magnetism is undesirable, such as in certain chemical processes, measurement and control technology and offshore installations. In addition, the material has good mechanical properties and excellent weldability, making it suitable for complex constructions and piping systems.

1.4529 is widely used in the chemical industry, oil and gas extraction, maritime applications and desalination plants, where reliability, safety and a long service life are essential.

GNS Nederland supplies Alloy 926 in various tensile strengths, sizes and thicknesses. If desired, it can also be cut to size.
