Round bar, flat bar and cut-to size blocks in 25CrMo4 (1.7218)

The quality 25CrMo4 (1.7218) is a high temperature resistant alloyed quench and tempering steel that is frequently used for parts that require high toughness in addition to a high load. Due to its chemical composition, 1.7218 (AISI 4130) is suitable for tempering and combines very good toughness with good tensile strengths. This also applies to higher operating temperatures. The quality is widely used for automotive and aircraft components such as axles, steering knuckles and turbine parts. 25CrMo4 is well weldable.
Mechanical properties for round bar in tempered condition QT (depending on diameter):
Tensile strength (Rm) min | ≥ 600–900 N/mm²
Yield strength (Re) min | ≥ 380-700 N/mm²
Elongation A5 min | ≥ 12-16%
Hardness HB | 270-325
Notch impact values (in rolling direction) +20 °C | ≥ 45-50 joules
